Marione Ingram is a German-born Holocaust survivor and human rights activist. Her grandmother was deported and killed by the Nazis for being Jewish, as were many other relatives on her mother's side. When Ingram's mother was told that Ingram and her sister were next, her mother attempted suicide- but Ingram herself, still a 7-year-old child, was able to stop her.
They were forced to live in hiding from the Nazis and Allied Forces bombing campaigns (they were rejected from bomb shelters because they were Jewish). Now, at the age of 88, Marione Ingram is deeply committed to pro-Palestinian advocacy. In an interview, she unequivocally condemned the genocide against Palestinians by Israel and said that she "would include what is happening in Gaza as a Holocaust." And she's not the only one. Ingram joined nine other Holocaust survivors as signatories in an open letter published by Mondoweiss condemning "Israel's Gaza genocide."
